One Piece Episode 1049: Recap
Originally titled “Luffy Soars!” Revenge Against The King Of The Beast,” One Piece Episode 1049 opened with Luffy on top of Momonosuke in his dragon form. Due to his fear of heights, Momonosuke cannot fly. Seeing that Luffy does not understand how an adult samurai and dragon can be afraid to fly, they end up arguing.
Additionally, Luffy tries to motivate Momonusuke by throwing insults and pulling his whiskers, causing him to agree to fly with closed eyes. As they approach their destination, Momonosuke reveals that he doesn’t know how to land. Therefore, he misses his destination and crashes into various fights in Skull Dome.
Meanwhile, Yamato and Kaido are still attacking each other. Yamato is determined to fight against his father to free Wano from his rule. Yamato even tells Kaido he will not be defeated until Luffy arrives. Meanwhile, Kaido tries to break his will by claiming he doesn’t belong to Wano as Yamato is an ogre child, so the Samurais won’t accept him as an ally.
To further hurt him, Kaido claims that Yamato will always be alone as he has no friends. Yamato disagrees, mentioning Ace. Kaido reminds him that all his friends are dead, but his words have little impact. Yamato loses focus, and he is severely beaten. As the episode ends, Yamato attacks Kaido and Luffy in gear 4.
What To Expect From Episode 1050
“Two Dragons Face Off! Momonosuke Determination.” The preview shows Kaido and Momonosuke in their dragon forms. Momonosuke finally finds the courage to fight Kaido.
